It seems like everyone and their mama has a website these days, and you’ve finally decided to take on what seems like an incredibly daunting chore. Well for those of you that have been asking yourself lately: “How do I create my own website?”, you’re in luck because we’re putting together a 10-step comprehensive guide for you to get started! Whether costs, ignorance, or time have been steering you clear of creating your own digital footprint, we hope that our guide will help empower you to become king (or queen) of your own content kingdom and reap the benefits of having your own website.
Introduction
Recently I’ve been approached by a number of people either asking me to design their website for them or asking how to create their own. Having to answer the same questions several times made me realize that most of what I know about creating sites I take for granted, and rather than keep this treasure trove of information constrained in an email I’ve decided to put together a comprehensive guide to anyone looking to get started on their own website and possibly even making money from it. (which conversely saves me the trouble of having to answer the same questions again when I can just provide folks with a link!)
Over the course of the next couple of weeks I will discuss issues ranging from brainstorming your website idea to finding free software tools and much more. There are a great number of opportunities to be had by having your own site rather than using any number of the free profile services like Blogger, MySpace or Linkedin and I’ll discuss those various opportunities as well.
I’m very excited to be sharing this series of information to you in my own area of professional expertise, but I am also looking forward to hearing from you. If you have any questions or feedback relating to this subject matter I would encourage you to send an email over to us and we’ll likely include it and our response in the posts here to share with everyone else!
Remember, the best way to stay up to date with this series and to learn new stuff is to subscribe to our news feed! And if you don’t have a place to keep track of news updates, you should check out PageFlakes.

I don’t know jack about creating websites. You got all those cool “share and enjoy” buttons - I don’t have a clue. Text link ads, or any other form of monetization besides AdSense - fuggetaboutit.
At least I can write, I think.
Juan, help me monentize this mofo!
