The Participant and The Spectator
On a day to day basis it’s too easy to become overwhelmed by the puzzle of life. Our journey to success becomes easier when we can remove ourself from the situation at hand and objectively observe life from a safe distance. In this way we become the Spectator and stop being the Participant. But why be the Spectator?
The Spectator, rather than learning from his or her own mistakes, learns from this mistakes of others. This puts him at an advantage of the Participant who learns by losing what he had already gained. (Be mindful that this illustration of a Spectator is not to be confused with an investment spectator) Fundamentally, every road to success (and to failure) has been twice traveled by some weary traveler. If you can learn the same lessons, and walk a similar journey without taking as many losses, you can make the same trip in less time. Of course, it is difficult to be the Spectator at every step of the way, but making use of your tools, common sense and objective observation, you can make the journey less perilous. This is the guiding light idea behind the machine that drives progress in humanity. (Be warned, however, this does not address when it is appropriate to be the Participant. — to be expanded in a later article)
Introducing Atomic Principles
As the Spectator, Atomic Principles provide a logically sound foundation for your objective observations. In situations where your common sense does not appear to be sufficient to unravel the puzzle before you, often times unveiling a few layers of sheath will reveal that it can be easily reduced to its Atomic Principle. Essentially, the Atomic Principle is the basic question behind the larger more complex problem. Determining the Atomic Principle not only allows you to use your common sense more efficiently, it also allows you to recognize similar problems in the future.
As a person whose goal is to be successful in life, learning to be the Spectator, and sharpening your tools to this end, is entirely to your advantage. Though I should point out: there may be times when an Atomic Principle appears to be unsound or illogical. This is largely due to the fact that Atomic Principles are derived from Human Experience. Since Atomic Principles are largely simplifications of this collective experience, some subtleties may get lost in translation. We leave it to the reader to assist in fine tuning these Atomic Principles where they might appear to be flawed.
As part of the philosophical dimension to Millionster, Atomic Principles may be addressed in illustrating certain problems.
