I can already hear my grandpa personal finance bloggers preaching to me about the virtues of building a golden nest egg; while I can easily appreciate and heed to the wisdom of a baby boomer, I can’t say that I wholeheartedly agree.
Yes, this is me being a 20-something year old with a view that some people might consider to be juvenile at best; still, if you’ve got what it takes to be the next up and up why should you lock your money up with the chains of taxes and fee penalties?
Maybe you can tell, I don’t get very excited about utilizing any sort of 401k or Roth IRA, despite what the preachers may preach. To me having a retirement fund is an acknowledgment of failure. Why else would you have a Plan B?
I don’t blow my money on beans or bling and I damn well don’t feel like being my own personal chicken little here. The sky is falling the sky is falling! You’re not gonna have any money when your old!! You’re going to be eating top ramen!!! oh no oh no!! Who’s going to take care of you!!! Have kids, teach them well, end of story.
In the end even your retirement plan can fail. So why bother??
Alas, if only I could be so care free.
I envy my friends who don’t have a care in the world!
