Hey folks, while some of you may be anticipating our next launch I just wanted to point out some of the revisions made to the current version of Millionster over the last week.

1. Added Search Box to the main template (it disappears if you go to the Power Search page listed in the right nav).
2. Added 404 Title Search — we have the unfortunate habit of putting articles into the wrong category and then later changing them, this wreaks havoc on aggregrate and reader systems that don’t update immediately since changing categories changes the url for an article. Now, if you run across a page that’s been moved you are prompted to search for it using the keyword from the title, which in most cases lands you on the article you were looking for
3. Added Bloggernity, Blog Catalog and Blog TopSites to our blogroll — ideally this is help expose Millionster to the world, but it also tells us how well we are doing relative to our peers. So far our highest ranking in Personal Finance has been 35! Woo hoo!
4. Added Top 10 & 100 Posts– some trickery in MySQL without having to install a plugin made this possible. On the left nav, we added the top 10 posts by number of page hits, which links to the “Top 100″ posts. Unfortunately when you visit the “Top 100″ posts page either by the Top 10 link or by the right nav link you discover that we only have 70 posts. Haha — this is because we have more than 30 posts in draft mode. One of the problems with the top posts is that the damn SuperBowl ads post has over 2000 hits, while the rest have at most 200-300 hits each. So that one looks like its going to be the number one post for a long while.
5. Also some miscellaneous MySQL optimizations have been done to make querying load faster.We also have a timer on the bottom of the page now to show how long it takes to parse queries.
6. WHOA NELLY I just realized there was a big nasty bug on the archives! The headers weren’t being passed, but now all is well in archive land!
