So I sent the “Power of Attraction” article to gidgets, and the following convo ensued. Leave it to me take on the role as Wikipedia man! According to the MSNBC article, people make judgment calls when they’re unconscious. lol.
gidgets
who the hell “determines” attractiveness?
1mil says:
nature
1mil says:
i think its a genetics/mating thing
1mil says:
you want to mate with ppl that
1mil says:
1. have similar genetic qualities as u
1mil says:
2. or have better genetic qualities
1mil says:
i think this drives a lot of that “attractiveness” mentality
1mil says:
subconsciously
gidgets
“It may even occur on an unconscious level.”
gidgets
wow, they’re unconscious when they’re judgmental
gidgets
subconsciously, you said it!
1mil says:
yep, they’re in a coma when they make decisions.
1mil says:
some things are not said aloud (only in their mind, while they are in a coma)

I agree. I saw this girl once, she was so beautiful it put me in a coma. I still got a crush on her.
I still disagree that attractiveness can be determined. Also, everyone can be attractive as long as they’re not a sloppy lazy ass.
Say your workplace was in a sex shop. If you (a man) walked around in thongs everywhere, you might be considered “attractiveness” for just being outrageously kinky. And for that, you’d probably get more customers and you’d probably get a raise.
Also, say your workplace was in Hot Topic. Whoever wears more black, studded jewlery, piercings, and has the darkest of dark of the deepest hell black hair, then you’d probably be treated well, also.
But anyways, who the hell gets to determine what attractive is?? The answer: Everybody. My advice? Get some self-esteem and stop being shallow. Confidence takes you places, not your clothes.
To each his own, I say. It’s each person’s interests, not genetics.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder!
